Cork

Cork Flooring defines sustainability. Cork is the bark that is removed from the Cork oak tree which has a lifespan of 250- 350 years. The Cork Oak tree is primarily grown in a small region of the mediterranian. Cork is harvested in 7 countries(Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Italy & France) that 50% of all cork originating from Portugal. This cork tree is harvested every 10-15 years. The cork flooring industry is generally known as environmentally friendly and sustainable because the cork tree is not cut down  and only the bark is harvested. The tree will continue to grow and live up to 250-350 years.
